Ltd. Cassette (by REVOX)

The limited Deep Purple SPLAT! cassette, manufactured by Revox, features 13 brand-new tracks.

The cassette tape used is based on the Revox exclusive legendary Grandmaster 456 Formula (Ferro Type I) for music cassettes and stands for high levels and wonderful analog sound. 

For the best possible production, the production masters are created by Christoph Stickel, Grammy-nominated mastering engineer, in his mastering studio in Vienna and perfectly matched to the special capabilities of the cassette tape used. These exclusive masters are then used to manufacture the audio cassettes at the Revox factory.
The exclusive Revox cassette housing, manufactured in Europe and secured with five screws, guarantees high mechanical quality and precise manufacturing. The result is an important contribution to accurate and durable cassette tape transport and the best possible sound experience. The triple-fold insert card (J-card) features additional information about the new Deep Purple album. The transparent cassette box (snap box) protects the cassette and insert card and allows a direct view of the cassette.

Rather than simply preserving their legacy, Deep Purple continue to extend it, driven by the same spirit that defined their earliest work. 

With SPLAT!, the band deliver their heaviest album in many years, recorded together in the studio the way Deep Purple have always recorded. 

Once again produced by Bob Ezrin, the album draws on the sound and attitude that have always set Deep Purple apart. 

At the heart of SPLAT! is an idea conceived by Ian Gillan: The album explores the end of humanity not in any crude apocalyptic sense but as a metamorphosis beyond physical existence. 

Frontman Ian Gillan says: “Where we are now with this incarnation of Deep Purple feels very much like a very ‘now’ version of Deep Purple as it was in the seventies.” 

The album is available in multiple formats including CD, black 2LP, limited purple 2LP, limited transparent yellow 2LP, MC, and limited box set.
